A yellow fever certificate is required from travellers over six months of age arriving within six days of transiting countries with infected areas.

Food & drink
All mains water on the island is distilled from seawater and is therefore safe to drink. Bottled mineral water is widely available. Milk is pasteurised and dairy products are safe for consumption. Local meat, poultry, seafood, fruit and vegetables are generally considered safe to eat.

Other risks
Immunisation against hepatitis A is recommended. TB and hepatitis B might also occur in rural areas.
There is one hospital in The Bottom plus the University School of Medicine. Medical insurance is essential.
