China has no shortage of accommodation even in peak season, with around 4500 tourist hotels. Main hotels in major cities are of a reasonable standard and there is a good range from budget to luxury. There are international-standard hotels in Tianjin, Hainan, Xiamen, Fujian, Hangzhou and Shenzen. Most of these hotels are comfortable and are considered good value for money. Many have facilities including restaurants, coffee shops, bars, swimming pools and massage rooms. Some even include shopping and business malls, banks and post offices. These are found in most tourist centres and provide cheaper accommodation for budget travellers. Standards range from poor to adequate. Good progress has been made in the construction of a network of hostels, covering, in particular, Beijing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Shanghai and Yunnan; good progress is being made.
