IDD is available. Country code: 258. Outgoing international calls must go through the operator, although direct dialling is available to South Africa and Swaziland; there may be some delay.
Roaming agreements exist with most international mobile phone operators. Coverage is expanding to all main cities in most provinces. Handsets cannot be hired for short periods.
There are at least two Internet cafes in Maputo (one in Avenida Julius Nyerere).
Press: There are no English-language newspapers published in Mozambique. The daily papers are Correio da Manha, Diário de Moçambique and Notícias. Express da Torde, Imparcial Fax and Mediafax are news sheets available by fax.
TV: Televisao de Mozambique (TVM) is state-run, while Radio-Televsiao Klint (RTK) is a private broadcaster.
Radio: State-run Radio Mozambique operates national network Antena Nacional, as well as provincial and local channels. RTK broadcasts privately-run services.
Postal services are available in main centres. Airmail to Europe usually takes five to seven days, but sometimes longer.
